Q&A: are there any sunshades that fit on a bushnell scope?

Question by J18142: are there any sunshades that fit on a bushnell scope?
Just got a bushnell 3-9×40 scope for my rifle. I’m looking for a sunshade for it but cant seem to find one made by bushnell. nikon has one, leupold has one, burris has one, etc. will any of these fit on my scope? thanks
finding a place to buy the sunshade isnt a problem.. my question is addressing whether one will work in my bushnell.

What is the difference between a Leica V-Lux 1 and the Panasonic DMC-FZ50?

Question by Jessie: What is the difference between a Leica V-Lux 1 and the Panasonic DMC-FZ50?
I’m looking at DSLRs… and besides the name brand, ISO capabilities, and price… am not seeing a big difference between the two cameras?

As a serious amateur, which one should I get? Is the Leica worth almost $ 400 more? The flip-out screen feature is IMPORTANT to me, and I’m not seeing any other 10 megapixel cameras which have this feature.

…though i’m looking more so at the panasonic, the leica has some rare qualities, if you could try them both and others out for a day, it may resolve this issue, i think you know better than anyone as well, good luck, have fun, ☺♥

Leica D-Lux 4 with accessories
leica

After getting the Lumix LX3 in August 2008, I ‘upgraded’ to the D-Lux 4 in October. Both cameras are largely identical. The D-Lux-4 has a different RAW format that can be handled by Capture One versus the LX3 that comes with Silky Pix editor, which is rather slow. Now Adobe has released converters to DNG, it really is not too relevant any more. Obviously both cameras are styled slightly different.

The Leica case is for the D-Lux-3. I modified it a bit so the D-Lux 4 fits better by removing side padding and cutting a hole in the bottom. The D-lux-4 case is now availble, but is a bit more bulky, while the D-Lux 3 case is more useable to my taste. The Lumix LX3 case fits as well, though it’s a bit loose around the grip as it is styled for the LX3 grip.

The view finder is an original 21mm view finder. The 24mm actually is a bit smaller then what the lens sees, and the 21mm seems to be a better fit. The other view finder is a 50mm vintage view finder – this is useful when shooting in 60mm zoom mode.

The wide angle converter is the Panasonic wide angle converter for the LX3. It is fully compatible, except that the D-Lux 4 has no menu option to recognize the wide angle converter.

The filters are a Kenko 46mm circular PL filter and a Kenko 46mm ND-4 filter. These filters are a bit cheaper than the Panasonic branded ones.

The tripod is the Leica mini tripod. The flash shoe protector is a Nikon part (BS-1).

Q&A: How to get video from Panasonic Leica Dicomar to computer?

Question by BleachPhantom: How to get video from Panasonic Leica Dicomar to computer?
cant figure this out… we installed all the software and whatnot, but still have no idea how to get the video onto my computer. help?!
its a PV-GS150

Answer by snowwillow20
Is it a minidv? We need the model # the Leica Dicomar is the lens.

edit…….MINIDV
You have a mini dv (cassette) camcorder….
Your dv camcorder needs a firewire connection (ieee 1394) in order to download video, Firewire to usb will not work to download video. You might end up with only sound or only video. Your PC might not have a firewire port, so you will have to buy one and install it, you need to buy a firewire cord too. Your camcorder came with a USB cord and that is used for downloading stills from your camcorder. Make sure your camera is in playback mode. If you have a laptop, make sure your laptop has an empty bay for a card.
The fine print in your manual makes reference to firewire (ieee 1394) connection.

What is the best semi pro cameras with a leica lens?

Question by Hershie101: What is the best semi pro cameras with a leica lens?
Right now, i’m leaning towards the Lumix FZ35 and the Olympus sp-600uz

I’m confused between these two, should i get the fz35 or the sp-600uz? or maybe other suggestions?
What do you think about the sp-800uz?

I was going to get the fz35 but then the sp-600uz has interchangeable lenses so i’m a bit confused

Best answer:

Answer by Petra_au
I’m not sure why you think any of those cameras are ‘semi-pro’ cameras…because they’re definitely, NOT. They are just your average point & shoot, ‘super-zoom’ camera with small image sensor, but with the addition of full manual controls and a long (fixed) zoom lens. If you want ‘semi-pro’ with interchangeable lenses and better image quality and faster performance…you should be looking at a camera with a large image sensor instead (dSLR).

I wouldn’t recommend Olympus, because they aren’t great when it comes to image quality. Also, the SP-600 UZ or SP-8000 UZ have NO viewfinder (optical or electronic). If the only other choice is the Panasonic FZ35…then it’s better than Olympus. But, it only has a crappy electronic viewfinder, which are terrible compared to an optical viewfinder.

I got a range finder for Christmas. Is this one legal or not?

Question by Kevin: I got a range finder for Christmas. Is this one legal or not?
Hello,
okay I got a Pride Sports Range finder. Its small and round, and can see up to 200 yards. Its not GPS or laser, its actually more manual. You line up how big the flagstick is with the yardage number, and thats the estimated distance. So is this legal or not? I heard all Range finders are illegal but I saw that this one is. Help?
Thanks so much and may god bless you all! ^_^

Best answer:

Answer by green_lantern66
It’s legal so long as it doesn’t give you advice, or if there is a local rule at your course(s) that ban such devices. There are some range finders that can gauge slope and tell you, based on your input into the device, what club to hit in a given situation. That is illegal, so long as the function remains on.
